Activity Status Change & Prompt New Activity

Can we make it easier to change the status of an activity? For example, from scheduled to completed without having to open and edit the activity? Similarly, if a new activity is completed could it be archived and prompt a new activity? For example, if I complete a business development meeting when i change the status from “scheduled” to “Complete” it would be nice to be prompted with a new activity such as follow-up, etc.
